Two missions. One rule: Survive together
A short, explosive defense — or a story-driven expedition across the station
How to play
The game master can configure the mode for the group in 30 seconds. Modes can be changed between rounds
Expedition
Swarm
The first group went silent
You're the Beta colonist group, sent to a distant planet with seeds to make it bloom.
The base is yours to lose
A sudden blackout leaves the colonist base defenseless — and a swarm of alien creatures is already moving on the complex.
What you shoot with
Weapons are scattered across the map to grab on the run — or the game master can lock one weapon for everyone. Each plays differently depending on the map
Laser Pistol
The default form: automatic fire, never runs dry — just don't hold the trigger so long it overheats.
Nobody gets left behind

-
Revive your squad
When a teammate goes down, the fight doesn't stop. Reach out with your free hand, hold the trigger — and pull them back into the mission.
-
See who needs help
Your health lives on your forearm. Teammate names change color when they're wounded or down.
-
Regroup after a wipe
Even if everyone falls, the team gets one job: reach the highlighted revival zone, stand together, and get back in.
-
One floor. One fight.
Everyone plays on the same level — your squad stays together from the lobby to the final boss.
How a session works
From the lobby to the last boss
-
01 / Briefing
Arrive 15 minutes early. The Game Master sets up your squad and the mission.
-
02 / The lobby
Headset calibration in Starbase's own training ground — test your aim, practice the revive, get the feel.
-
03 / The mission
Your Game Master matches the mission to your time slot — a fast Swarm defense, the longer Expedition campaign, or repeat runs if time allows.
-
04 / Debrief
Stats on the big screen, war stories in the lounge.

Popular questions
Ages 10 and up. Sci-fi action against alien creatures — intense, but heroic rather than scary.
No. Starbase is bright sci-fi action — more blockbuster than horror. If your group wants real zombie dread, that's Kernel's Cooperative missions.
The least of any game we run. One trigger to shoot, reloading is fully automatic, and weapon upgrades happen by touching a container. Perfect for mixed groups.
No. You physically walk the arena; lifts and platforms move smoothly, and everyone always plays on the same level.
No — and that's the point. Starbase is 100% co-op: no PvP, no friendly fire. Your squad fights together, not against each other.
A teammate revives you — empty hand, hold the trigger, you're back. If the whole squad goes down, regroup in the revival zone and continue.
Short on time or new to VR — Swarm: ~20 minutes of escalating defense with a boss finale. Want a story with exploration and puzzles — Expedition: ~35 minutes, six locations, three bosses, and a helper robot named Dronny.
Both missions run from a single player up to a full squad. Best with a group — the puzzles and revives are built for teamwork.
